CAT HAVE PERMISSION TO KEEP IN ISLAM

CAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CREATURE IN ISLAM

Being a Muslim myself and having a profound love for cats, i could not skip this topic and hence decided to do research on it and share it with our fellow readers who tend to be Muslims. Even non Muslims will find this article very helpful to understand how Islam has been kind to different animals and specially cats, the world Most Famous Pet.
Islam, Faith and Cats
Arabs in the 7th century believed that the cat was pure spirited. Pre-Islamic Arabs are said to have worshiped a Golden Cat. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was tender and kind towards cats. He appreciated cats. Muhammad’s (SAW) favorite cat was called Muezza. There is a well known story regarding the Prophet Muhammad (s) and Muezza.
“When the call to prayers was heard, Muezza was asleep on one of the sleeves of the Prophets  (SAW) robes. The Prophet (s) wanted to wear the robe to go to prayers. Rather than disturb Muezza, Muhammad (SAW) cut off the sleeve to leave Muezza in peace. Prophet (s) then stroked the cat three times, which, it is said, granted Muezza seven lives and the ability to land on his feet at all times (as you might know, cats have a self-righting mechanism,a righting reflex, which is a complex series of movements when a cat falls and which protects the cat from breaking her back).”
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was so attached to his cat that when he gave sermons he let Muezza rest on his lap and he also drank from water previously drunk by his cat. He also did his ablutions from the same water that was drunk by a cat. He seemed to treat his cat in the same way as cat lovers do today but even cat lovers might think twice about drinking the same water that had been drunk by a cat for fear of transmission of disease from the cat’s saliva.
Islam teaches Muslims to treat cats well and that the cat is a creature to be cherished and loved. Mistreating a cat is regarded as a severe sin in Islam.
Cats according to the Quran, Sunnah and Hadith
An example as to how Muslims are punished for mistreating cats can be found in the ahadith (oral traditions telling the story of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) and which have been recorded in writing). When a woman kept a cat locked up and failed to feed the cat until the cat died, the woman was tortured and “put to hell.â€
It is believed that you will suffer no harm if you drink from the cat’s water provided no impurities are seen in the cat’s mouth. In another story from the ahadith, it is stated that a when a cat ate a pudding put down during prayers, the person who was in charge of the pudding ate from the same place as the cat and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said this was alright as the cat is not unclean and is “one of those who go around amongst us”.
Islam teaches Muslims that, in relation to a cat:
* the cat should not be sold for money or other traded goods
* cats saliva is harmless unless the cat has “visible impurities” in the mouth
*that Muslims are free to live with cats but they must treat cats well, providing the cat with enough water and food and giving “roaming time” (a degree of freedom of movement)
While searching on the net on the topic, i also came across a detail reply by a scholar of Islam on the issue keeping cats. Here is the question followed by the answer.
Question: Is it permissible to have a CAT in the house according to Islam and its teachings ?.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

It is permissible to keep cats in the house, and there is nothing wrong with that because cats are not harmful or naajis (impure).

With regard to cats not being harmful, no one disputes that, rather they are useful because they eat snakes, rats bugs and other things that may be in the house or yard.
With regard to cats not being naajis, this is known from the hadeeth of Kabshah bint Ka’b ibn Maalik, who said that Abu Qutaadah – her husband’s father – entered upon her and she poured water for him to do wudoo’, and a cat came to drink from it, so he tipped the vessel for it to drink. Kabshah said: “He saw me looking at him and said, “Do you find it strange, O daughter of my brother?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “They (cats) are not naajis, rather they are of those who go around amongst you.â€â€™â€

(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 92; al-Nasaa’i, 68; Abu Dawood, 75; Ibn Maajah, 367. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani. Ibn Hajar narrated in al-Talkhees that al-Bukhaari classed it as saheeh).

Secondly:

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she tied up and did not feed, nor did she let it loose to feed upon the vermin of the earth.†(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3140; Muslim, 2242).

The vermin of the earth means insects and mice, etc.

This hadeeth does not denounce the woman for keeping a cat, but it demonstrates that the woman’s sin was in not feeding it or leaving it to eat from the vermin of the earth.

Thirdly:

The great Sahaabi Abu Hurayrah (literally “Father of the Kittenâ€) was so called because he used to love cats and keep them. He became well known by this name and people forgot his real name, until the scholars disputed concerning his real name and there were nearly thirty different opinions as to what it was. Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said in al-Istee’aab: “The most correct view is that his name was ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Sakhr but none of them disputed that he was Abu Hurayrah.â€

Fourthly:

Note: It is permissible to keep cats but it is not permissible to buy or sell them; they may be given as gifts or given away. That is because of the hadeeth of Abu’l-Zubayr who said: “I asked Jaabir about the price of dogs and cats. He said, ‘The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade that.’†(Narrated by Muslim, 1569).

AMAZING QUR'AN ABOUT UNIVERSE

In the Qur'an, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago at a time when the science of astronomy was still primitive, the expansion of the universe was described in the following terms:
And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Qur'an, 51:47)
The word "heaven," as stated in the verse above, is used in various places in the Qur'an. It is referring to space and the wider universe. Here again, the word is used with this meaning, stating that the universe "expands." The Arabic word "moosiaaoona" in the term "inna lamoosiaaoona," translated into English as "it is We Who are steadily expanding it", comes from the verb "evsea," meaning "to expand." The prefix "la" emphasises the following name or title and adds a sense of "to a great extent." This expression therefore means "We expand the sky or the universe to a great extent." This is the very conclusion that science has reached today. 
Until the dawn of the 20th century, the only view prevailing in the world of science was that "the universe has a constant nature and it has existed since infinite time." However, modern research, observations, and calculations carried out by means of modern technology have revealed that the universe in fact had a beginning and that it constantly "expands."
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian physicist Alexander Friedmann and the Belgian cosmologist Georges Lemaitre theoretically calculated that the universe is in constant motion and that it is expanding.

From the moment of the Big Bang, the universe has been constantly expanding at a great speed. Scientists compare the expanding universe to the surface of a balloon that is inflated.
This notion was confirmed by the use of observational data in 1929. While observing the sky with a telescope, Edwin Hubble, the American astronomer, discovered that the stars and galaxies were constantly moving away from each other. This discovery is regarded as one of the greatest in the history of astronomy. During these observations, Hubble established that the stars emit a light that turns redder according to their distance. That is because according to the known laws of physics, light heading towards a point of observation turns violet, and light moving away from that point assumes a more reddish hue. During his observations, Hubble noted a tendency towards the colour red in the light emitted by stars. In short, the stars were moving further and further away, all the time. The stars and galaxies were not only moving away from us, but also from each other. A universe where everything constantly moves away from everything else implied a constantly expanding universe. The observations carried out in the following years verified that the universe is constantly expanding.
In order to gain a clearer understanding of this, let us imagine the universe to be the surface of a balloon being inflated. In the same way that the more the balloon is inflated, the further away the points on its surface move from one another, celestial bodies also move away from one another as the universe expands. This was theoretically discovered by Albert Einstein, regarded as one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century. However, in order to avoid violating the "static universe model" that was generally accepted at that time, Einstein laid that discovery aside. He would later describe this as the greatest blunder of his life. 2
This fact was explained in the Qur'an in a time when telescopes and similar technological advancements were not even close to being invented. This is because the Qur'an is the Word of Allah: the Creator and Ruler of the entire universe.
The expansion of the universe is one of the most important pieces of evidence that the universe was created out of nothing. Although this was not discovered by science until the 20th century, Allah has informed us of this reality in the Qur’an revealed 1,400 years ago:
It is We Who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 47)
Another important aspect revealed in the Qur'an fourteen centuries before the modern discovery of the Big Bang and findings related to it is that when it was created, the universe occupied a very tiny volume:
Do those who are disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not have faith? (Surat al-Anbiya': 30)
There is a very important choice of words in the original Arabic whose translation is given above. The word ratk translated as ‘sewn to’ means ‘mixed in each, blended’ in Arabic dictionaries. It is used to refer to two different substances that make up a whole. The phrase "we unstitched" is the verb fatk in Arabic and implies that something comes into being by tearing apart or destroying the structure of ratk. The sprouting of a seed from the soil is one of the actions to which this verb is applied.

The first important point to consider is the actual statements of the Qur’an, and whether they have been honestly presented. Harun Yahya quotes the Qur’an as saying in 51:47 “It is We Who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it.”
Is that a fair translation of the ayah in question?
Well, not according to the three most highly regarded English translations generally available. 

Not one of them contains the idea of an ongoing expansion of the universe. In fact, none of them refers to the “universe” at all, but to the heavens or firmament, in contrast to the ayah immediately following which discusses the earth:  
The dualism of the heaven and the earth is a recurring theme in the Qur’an, and to ancient Arabs they together would have been considered the entire universe. And generally, when one is referred to, the other marches right along with it in the repetitive pattern of most Arabic poetry.
The problem here is that since the identical verb forms and grammar are used, to include tense, how can Harun Yahya claim the first ayah refers to an ongoing, continuing expansion of the heavens, without also concluding that the second must also refer to an ongoing, continuing spreading of the earth?
Qur’anic cosmology is firmly geocentric, with the flat earth at the center of the universe surrounded by seven solid spheres (the “seven heavens”) within which orbited the stars, planets, sun and moon.
But here Yahya has deliberately and deceptively altered the meaning of 51:47 in three ways.
He has mistranslated “heaven” as “universe” in the attempt to make the Qur’an sound conceptually more sophisticated than it really is, and to provide a stronger basis for his second and more significant distortion.
He then not only translates the Arabic noun for “a vastness” into a verb meaning “expanding,” but he then adds the entirely superfluous adverb “steadily” in an attempt to insert into the Qur’an additional ideas that are not actually there. With these three translational liberties, he has completely changed the meaning of this ayah from a simple description of Allah’s creation of the heavens into a scientific statement of Hubble’s expanding universe that is not actually contained in the Qur’an.
Harun Yahya’s misuse and abuse of Qur’an 21:30 is no more legitimate than his mutilation of 51:47 although at least his translation is more loyal to the original. In this case his primary tool for distortion comes from the decision to take this single ayah completely out of context, and so disguise its actual (and obvious) meaning.
Here is the single verse as quoted by Yahya in his own translation. 
Now that we have returned the verse to its actual context, let’s take a moment to contrast Yahya’s argument with what the Qur’an is actually describing. He claims that this is a description of the scientific fact that “when it was created, the universe occupied a very tiny volume.” In fact, there is no description at all in this verse that could be interpreted at referring to volume in any sense.
But more importantly, Yahya is claiming that the “unstitching” of heaven and earth described here is a reference to the “Big Bang,” or the primordial creation of the universe. If this were the case, then the “earth” mentioned here can not refer to the planet Earth, as its creation was still billions of years in the future from the event he claims is being described.
In other words, Yahya is implying (and many Islamic websites and publications claim explicitly) that “earth” here means “matter,” and not the planet Earth itself.
But the very next verse proves that this cannot be true. For in that very next verse Allah is setting on that same “earth” mountains and highways. How could this be if the “earth” in these ayat meant anything other than the planet Earth? When you further consider that the next ayah after that concerns the “heaven” as a “canopy” or “roof” to that same planet earth, then the idea that this verse is a description of the “big bang” becomes completely impossible.
These verses are exactly what they appear to be; they are a description of Allah’s creation of the planet Earth and the heavens above it, and not a description of the creation of the universe as understood by modern science.
The idea that the heavens and earth were once joined and then separated by the activity of Gods and Goddesses was actually quite common among pagans of the Middle East. Among the Egyptians for example, it was the involuntary separation of Geb (the earth god) from his wife and sister Nut (the sky goddess) that was responsible for the division of the earth from the sky. The Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh likewise describes the moment “when the heavens had been separated from the earth, when the earth had been delimited from the heavens” as a result of the separation of a sky God (An) from a earth Goddess (Ki). If you remove the pagan references, you have the same story as found in the Qur’an.
Remember that in Prophet Muhammad’s day, the heavens and the earth were the entire universe. All the celestial bodies that could be observed were believed to reside within the concentric spheres of the “seven heavens.” The stars were even contained in the closest sphere to Earth in ignorance of the fact that their tiny size was simply an illusion caused by their great actual distance. This truncated understanding of the universe is responsible for the fact that there is no actual discussion of the creation of a “universe” in the Qur’an at all.

Conclusion

The claim that the "Big Bang" is described in the Qur’an is shown to be in error. It is actually silent on the “big bang” because it clearly has no awareness whatsoever of a universe that preexisted the creation of the planet Earth, or extended outwards into infinite space. It has no understanding of galaxies, or clusters of galaxies, or quasars and pulsars or any of the other things that could have easily been mentioned by an omniscient Allah, and left us no room for quibbling.

Amazing Quran River and Fire Under The Sea



The Black Sea undersea river is a current of particularly saline water flowing through the Bosphorus Strait and along the seabed of the Black Sea. The discovery of the river, announced on 1 August 2010, was made by scientists at the University of Leeds, and is the first of its kind in the world.
Scientists have previously discovered channels running along ocean floors, based on sonar scanning. One of the largest of these runs from the mouth of the Amazon River into the Atlantic Ocean. Though it was suspected that these channels might function as rivers, it was only with the discovery of the Black Sea river that this suspicion was confirmed. Because of the power and unpredictability of these streams, they have been difficult to explore directly. A team of scientists headed by Dr Jeff Peakall and Dr Daniel Parsons of the University of Leeds collaborated with scientists from the University of Southampton, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the Turkish Institute of Marine Sciences. The team used the Natural Environment Research Council's Autosub3 – a 7-metre torpedo-shaped autonomous underwater vehicle – to get as close to the current as possible. The river was found to be 37 miles (60 km) long, up to 115 feet (35 m) deep and 0.6 miles (0.97 km) wide. Though smaller than the Amazon channel, the undersea river still carried ten times more water than the Rhine. It flows at a speed of four miles per hour, with 22,000 cubic metres (780,000 cu ft) passing through per second. Had it been a surface river it would have ranked as the sixth largest river in the world.
The river was found to contain features typical of surface rivers, such as river banks, floodplains, waterfalls and rapids. One major difference was that the underwater river, when rounding a bend, moved in currents spinning in the opposite direction from those on land. The river works as a density current, because it carries sediments along the sea floor and has a higher salinity than the surrounding water.[3] The discovery was expected to have great implication for the study of marine biology, climate change, and geological formation. In addition to this, the information obtained could be useful for oil companies interested in exploiting underwater resources of oil and natural gas.
Al-Quran :
"We will show them soon, evidences of Our truth from every corner of the world and from within themselves, until it became clear to them, that Al-Quran is the truth. Is it not enough that your God can see everything." (QS Fushshilat : 53)

"And He is the one who let the two seas flow (side by side) ; one is pure and fresh while the other one salty and bitter; and He made between those two a wall and barrier which separate." (Q.S Al Furqan; 53)
f you're one of those who love to watch 'Discovery' TV programme, you must knew Mr. Jacques Yves Costeau, he is an oceanographer and a famous diver from France. All his life, this gray haired old man had dived in various ocean depth all over the world and making documentaries about the beauty of underwater world for the world to watch.

 One day while exploring underwater, he came across a group of fresh pure water fountain which is very tasty because it does not mix/ melt with the salty water around it, as if there is a wall or membrane which separates them.
This strange phenomena confused Mr. Costeau and encouraged him to find the cause of separation between fresh water and salty water in the middle of the ocean. He started to think that it could be his own imagination or hallucination while diving. Time flows by after the incidents, but he never stopped searching for the answer to that strange phenomena.



 Until one day, he met a Muslim professor, then he told him of that strange phenomena. The professor remembered the verses from Al Quran about the meeting between two oceans ( surah Ar-Rahman verse 19-20) which had always been related to Suez Canal. The verses cited are “Marajal bahraini yaltaqiyaan, bainahumaa barzakhun laa yabghiyaan.. .” Which means: " He let two oceans meet, between those two there is a barrier which cannot be penetrated. Then, he cited surah Al Furqan verse 53 as stated above.

 Besides that, in several interpretation books/works of Al-Quran, the verses about the meeting between two ocean where the water do not mix is often relate to estuary, where the meeting between fresh water from the river and salty water from the ocean. But the interpreter does not explained the next verse from surah Ar-Rahman verse 22 which is “Yakhruju minhuma lu’lu`u wal marjaan” means "From both ocean, pearl and jewels exist." But if we look at the  real situation, they do not exist at the estuary.
 Mr. Costeau was awe-strucked to hear those verses from Al-Quran more than his awe towards whatever he had seen under the deep water. It is impossible for Al-Quran to be written by Muhammad himself who lived in the seventh century, an age where the is no high-tech diving equipment whatsoever to reach the remote area of the ocean depth. It is truly an evidence of truth, a news about a strange phenomena from 14 centuries ago.

Finally, it is proven on the 20th century. Mr. Costeau then said that Al-Quran is truly a holy book that contains verses from Allah, which is true and fixed. In that moment, he embraced Islam.
 " And He is the one who let two seas flow (side by side) ; one is pure and fresh while the other is salty and bitter; and He made between those two a wall and barrier which separate. " (Q.S Al-Furqan: 53)
Allahu Akbar…!  Mr. Costeau obtain His light through the phenomena of oceangraphy technology. Allah, The Truest, The Greatest. True are the words of Allah, who is The Greatest. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) once said: " Behold, the hearts of human will rust like an iron rusted by water." When someone asked, " What is the way to make to cleanse those heart?" The Prophet replied; " Always remember death and recite the Al-Quran."
If you're a diver, then you must visit Cenote Angelita, Mexico. There exists a cave. If you dive until the depth of 30 meters, the water is fresh, but if you dive until the depth of 60 meters, the water become salty, then you can see a 'river' at the bottom, complete with trees and leaves.
 Some of the researchers said, that is not an ordinary river, it is a hydrogen sulphide layer, which looks like a river...extraordinary isn't it? See how great is the creation of Allah, The Most Gracious and Highest. 

Scientific Proof In The Qur'an: “Fire Under The Sea” 

 

Subhanallah! Not long ago, a phenomenon in the form cracks in the seabed that produced lavas was discovered, and these lavas caused the water to boil until its temperature reaches over a thousand degree Celcius. Even though the temperature of the lavas is extremely high, it could not make the sea water vaporize and even though the amount of sea water is overwhelmingly huge, it could not extinguish the fire.
On the authority of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“No one should sail on the sea except the one who is going to perform Hajj or ‘Umrah, or the one who is going to fight in Allah's path for under the sea there is a fire, and under the fire there is a sea.”

Explanation of the Hadith
This honorable hadith coincides with the Qur'anic oath at the beginning of the chapter of at-Tur (The Mount) in which Allah, the Almighty, swears – in spite of the fact that He has no need to swear – by the burning sea. Almighty Allah says:

"By the Mount . And by the Book Inscribed. In parchment unrolled. And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parallel to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angles). And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). And by the burning sea. Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass. There is none that can avert it." [Surat At-Tur (The Mount): 1-8]

When the Ever-Glorious Qur'an was revealed, the Arabs could not perceive the connotation and the meaning of swearing by the burning sea, for the verb "burn" means to destroy or damage by fire. Furthermore, fire and water are bitter enemies as water extinguishes fire and heat vaporizes water. How is it possible then for such opponents to live together? How is it possible for opposites to unite and none of them overpowers the other?

It was something irrational, illogical and unreasonable when this verse was read by Rasulullah SAW more than 1400 ago, to the Jahiliyyah people. How could it be possible that fire is alight in the water? How could it be possible that the sea which is cold in attribute becomes hot? For this reason, the Jahiliyyah people denied the verses of Allah and said that Muhamad was just a poet.

While the believing people then tended to refer the whole matter to the Day of Judgment in the light of what is mentioned at the chapter of at-Takwir (The Folding Up) in which Almighty Allah says:

"And when the seas shall be burnt." [Surat At-Takwir ( Wound Round and Lost its Light): 6]

However, this is not true, as the verses at the beginning of the chapter of at-Takwir refer to the future events of the Day of Judgment while the oath at the beginning of the chapter of at-Tur refers to realistic events in our life. Therefore, there is no comparison.

This has led a number of interpreters to look for another meaning of the verb "Sajjar" instead of "burn". They were pleased to know that it has another meaning ; "to swell up" , as they are now able to interpret the verse saying that Allah has told humanity that He has filled oceans and seas with water and prevented them from overflowing over land . Actually, this honorable hadith tells that in this worldly life, there is a fire under the sea and there is a sea under the fire.

The Prophet SAW never sailed over the sea during his lifetime, that so what obliged him to talk about an unseen matter, except that Almighty Allah ordered him to do so. Almighty Allah knew through His Comprehensive Knowledge that someday man would discover this amazing scientific fact, so He mentioned it in the Ever-Glorious Qur'an and informed His honorable Prophet about it, so that it would remain a sign asserting that the Ever-Glorious Qur'an is Allah's Words and His final Prophet's words were revealed to him. Allah, the Almighty, says:

"He (Muhammad ) does not speak of (his own) desire."
[Surat An-Najm (The Star): 3]

Amazing Scientific Proof


The promises of Allah are always true. The words of Allah are always true. Today, the scientists admitted that there are certainly many volcanoes in the oceans. In fact, the numbers are estimated to be even more than those that are in the mainland. They estimated that 70% of all the volcanoes on earth are found to be under the ocean covering a distance of 64,000 kilometers, which is termed as the "Ring of Fire" that includes the area of Japan, Tonga, etc.

Following World War II , scientists roamed oceans and seas searching for some minerals whose reservoirs were near to be exhausted because of the extravagant materialistic human civilization. They were astonished to find that many volcanic mountain chains extended throughout all oceans along thousands of kilometers and they called them the Mid-ocean Mountains. By studying these oceanic mountain chains, it became clear that they were formed as a result of violent volcanic eruptions through a huge net of deep faults that split the rocky crust and completely surrounded it. These faults were mainly centered on the ocean floor. Also, it became evident that this net of faults extends to more than 64,000 kilometers and their depth reaches about 65 kilometers penetrating the rocky crust and reaching the weak layer known as the zone of weakness (the asthenosphere). In the asthenosphere, the rocks are in a partially molten state with relatively high density and viscosity. The hot currents drive these enormous tons of rocks to the ocean floor and to some sea bottoms such as the Red Sea where the temperature exceeds 10,00o C. These rocks are estimated to amount to millions of tons pushing the ocean water to the right and left, in a phenomenon known by scientists as "the phenomenon of expanding and re-forming the sea and ocean floors". The areas resulting form the process of expansion are filled with this magma, which leads to fire on the ocean floors and some sea bottoms. 

 Mid-Oceanic Faults
One of the phenomena that scientists have failed to find an answer to is how the water of oceans and seas cannot put out the magma! Moreover, how is it that this magma, in spite of its extreme temperature, is unable to vaporize seas and oceans?

This balance between the opposites: fire and water on the ocean floors (including the South Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Ocean), and some sea bottoms, is a clear witness to the Unlimited Power of Allah.

In a project to employ the mineral wealth at the bottom of the Red Sea, where volcanic eruptions violently take place and enrich the sediments of its sea floor, a research ship threw down a metal hook to obtain samples of the clay. When this metal hook got out of the water, no one could touch it because of its extreme heat. When they opened it, they found that the temperature of the clay and hot vapor exceeds 300o C. Therefore, the scientists came to know that the volcanic eruptions in the ocean floors, and some sea bottoms greatly exceed all those found on land. Also, it was proven with clear-cut evidence that Almighty Allah brought out all water from the land. Moreover, the magma in the asthenosphere, and below it, contains a huge amount of water that exceeds all that is found on the surface of the earth.

Thus, we see the magnificence of this honorable hadith in which the Prophet SAW stated and clarified some facts about our planet more than 1400 years ago, though the Jahiliyyah people denied him at that time. Strangely, man was (only) able to reach these facts a few years ago.

Was Prophet Muhammad a scientist? Was Muhammad a deep-sea diver or a researcher studying ocean-bottom substances? What equipments were available on Prophet Muhammad that allowed him to declare that there were volcanic eruptions under the sea? NO! All those are the kalam (words) of Allah. Allah swears with what is unknown to mankind at that time (the Jahiliyyah era) and what is just known to mankind because the Qur’an is not only for the ummah of 1400 years ago, but also for the ummah of all time, until that deciding moment arrives.
